Where are we?
  • 2005

    The Government of Québec hired experts from the ARTEC firm as acoustics specialists to develop the project.

  • June 2006

    The Prime Minister of Québec Jean Charest and the Minister of Culture and Communications and Minister responsible for the region of Montréal Line Beauchamp announce the construction of a new concert hall.

  • December 2006

    Request for qualification to select potential partners from the private sector for the design, construction, funding, operation and maintenance of the new concert hall.

  • December 2007

    Call for proposals to select the partner who will be in charge of the design, construction, funding, operation and maintenance of the new concert hall.

  • Fall 2008

    Submission of technical proposals

  • February 2009

    Submission of funding proposals

  • April 2009

    A 29-year partnership agreement is signed with Groupe immobilier Ovation for the design, construction, funding, operation and maintenance of the new concert hall.

  • May 2009

    Launching of construction work and demolition of the old parking lot

  • Summer 2009

    Construction of the new parking lot and the Grand Foyer culturel of Place des Arts

  • Fall 2009

    Beginning of the construction of the new concert hall

    Erection of the structure and parking Lot
