Selected Project
The project submitted by Groupe immobilier Ovation features a world-class hall meeting all the requirements of its future users, particularly in terms of acoustics.
The cost of the project is within the budgetary envelope allocated by the government and the project allows on-time delivery of the hall in the summer of 2011. In addition, the costs for the construction, operations and maintenance of the hall are known before the start of construction, owing to the public-private partnership.
Partner Commitments
Under the signed agreement, Groupe immobilier Ovation is particularly responsible for all the design and construction work. This partner must meet all the acoustic and stage design requirements prescribed by Artec, provide all the specialized equipment needed, ensure the maintenance of the building (standard maintenance and major works) for the entire duration of the agreement, and ensure the funding and operations of the hall, the use of specialized equipment and arts management excluded.
Government Responsibilities
The Government of Québec is responsible for the acoustic and stage design of the hall. It committed itself to providing the partner with a site free from any hazardous material. Under the agreement, the Government of Québec is also required to ensure various services in cooperation with the OSM and Place des Arts, including parking management, ticketing, hall reservations, advertising, display materials and spaces shared with Place des Arts. Naturally, the government must pay the private partner.
