Occupancy and Management
The OSM’s New Home
Building a world-class acoustic concert hall is a dream long nurture by the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM). Present at all the phases of its design, the OSM is closely monitoring the construction of its future home. It is above all to meet its needs and expectations that L’Adresse symphonique was created.
Custom designed for this great orchestra, the concert hall will feature acoustic conditions worthy of the OSM’s artistic quality in order for the genius of its artistic director and the virtuosity of its musicians to be fully appreciated.
The OSM will be the main occupant of the concert hall during 240 days a year. For the remaining 125 days, Place des Arts will present a line up of prestigious shows featuring world-renowned classical ensembles and performers as well as artists of all musical genres.
Completing the Place des Arts Complex
The new concert hall dedicated to classical music is part of a vision that the builders of Place des Arts (PdA) wanted to promote, with a focus on preserving cultural heritage. Their goal was for Montréal to have appropriate facilities to showcase performing arts in the same conditions as those of the great cities of the world.
This cultural complex currently includes five performing arts centres and has an attendance of close to a million people every year.
Corner stone of Quartier des spectacles, Place des Arts plays a leading role in promoting performing arts and is involved in the recognition of Montréal as a major cultural city within America.
A Prestigious Programme
With such a quality concert hall, all the hopes and dreams are permitted. Montréal will be in a position to host some of the most talented musicians and artists as well as some of the most innovative performances and greatest shows.
Place des Arts programme experts are already pondering possibilities and scheduling the first season of the new concert hall. To be continued…
